Community Outreach

Care Packs – Carepacks, a weekend food program aimed at preventing hunger among Talbot County’s most economically vulnerable students, serves students at ALL Talbot County elementary schools. A number of our members assist in stuffing Carepacks.

Scholarships – each year a scholarship is awarded to one or more graduating seniors at St. Michaels High School. In forty years the Woman’s Club of St. Michaels has awarded over $200,000 to deserving students planning to attend a four year college or university, a community college or a vocational/technical school. In addition, in 2019 the WCSM voted to establish The Woman’s Club of St Michaels Workforce Training Scholarship at Chesapeake College to be awarded to a Talbot County resident(s) not recently graduated from high school and enrolled in a non-credit workforce training program at the College.

Career Connection Community Project (CCC) is a joint effort with St. Michael’s High School, our Women’s club and St. Michaels Rotary. The CCC mentors work  with Juniors and Seniors to write resumes, cover letters and essays for job application and further education. Club members work with students on interview skills to include personal strengths and weaknesses, professional behavior and appearance in college or business environments.
